Ten Things About Me
Welcome to The Growth Project. Thanks to you—the person reading my stories—this project will grow.
I am a daughter, a wife, and a mother of two.
These three areas of commitment come before everything else.
I am a New Yorker.
I grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the 1980s. Forty-four years later I am still here and loving it.
I have been sober for fourteen years.
I have given up alcohol, nicotine, binge eating, habitually thinking about myself and being a victim of my childhood. I know that nothing in the outside world will ever fill me inside.
I am an extroverted hermit.
Although my personality is friendly and unafraid, crowds and surface conversation make me dizzy in seconds. I love silence, stillness, and nature.
I am a seeker and a student.
As a child, I studied parapsychology and extraterrestrial life. Now, I practice TM, read books on koans and attend Tony Robbin’s workshops.
I am a Certified Health Coach
Ever since I got sober at age 29, health has been a passion. Every tip I give you, I practice myself.
I am wild about Sci-Fi.
Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dune were my favorite childhood movies. The weirder, the better.
I am a mentor.
I work with women in AA and a young mother in Brooklyn. Watching them grow is a gift. Shame and regret transform into power when
we use our pasts to help others.
I am a quote collector.
Quotes are taped on the walls around my desk and saved inside the notepad on my phone. I find it magical that powerful combinations of words can shift thought.
I used to work in Fashion Advertising.
I have spent the last ten years raising my children and growing myself. The
Growth Project is the launch of my second career.
